PAPER BAG PUPPET
Material
Small paper bag
Paint, brushes, crayons or markers
Paper, scissors, tape or glue
Newspaper for table
Presentation
Show the children to protect the table with newspaper and wear aprons. There are two variations of preparing the paper bag for making a puppet:
1. Squash the paper bag in at the end, forming a mouth. Paint or color, and decorate. This is a good first puppet for the very young.
2. Leave the bag folded flat. If you want a smaller snout, fold under a small triangle on either side of the nose. Glue or tape. Cut out ears, tongue, and if desired, nose and eyes from colored paper. Features may also be painted or drawn on. Decorate. To work the mouth, place fingers in the top of the mouth and thumb in the bottom.
