Ring Chain

Material

• Rectangles of paper approximately 5" wide and 11" long
• Glue or paste
• Scissors

Presentation

1. Show children how to:
2. Cut paper into strips approximately 1/2" x 5".
3. Loop the ends together, forming a circle and paste the ends together.
4. Insert each succeeding strip through the previous circle, forming a chain.

With older children, suggest that they cut the strips narrower, approximately 1/4" x 5", as this makes a more delicate and pleasing chain.
