Presentation
Show children how to:
1. Fold a rectangle into half and then half again, forming a rectangle 1 1/2" x 2 1/2".
2. Cut out a half-heart shape and stem, the center and stem of the heart along the folds as shown.
For some children it might be helpful to give them a template of the half-heart shape to trace around until they develop enough confidence to cut out the shape without drawing it first.
4. Open up cut shapes and insert each heart through the one before it, forming a chain.
