Flower Chains

Older children can do more complicated chains. They would enjoy folding squares into quarters and curving the sides to form petal patterns.

Several layers of petals can be superimposed on each other to form a flower, perhaps even cutting the sepals at the base of each flower from green paper. If cupped flowers are desired, the ends of the petals can be bent up.

Children would alternately string flowers and segments of straw. This is especially pretty, using pastel colors and is lovely to make in the spring.
